Pro Parent Tips for a Snow-Free Tubing Day

  • For snow tubing near Atlanta, wear layers that can easily be taken off. Don’t forget to bring gloves, a hat, insulated or waterproof pants, warm socks, and boots.

  • Pack snacks and bottled water to keep everyone hydrated. Since the snow is wet, bring an extra pair of clothes and shoes for each family member. Lip balm, sunscreen, and sunglasses are also good to pack.

  • It’s best for younger kids and first-timers to go earlier in the day to avoid crowds. Nighttime tubing, which tends to be faster since the slopes have refrozen, is better suited for older kids.

  • If you have younger kids or grandparents tagging along, you’ll want to look for places that offer a toddler area and restaurants with seating. Older kids may want to tube at night and participate in additional activities such as snow skiing and snowboarding.

  • Save money by purchasing tickets online. Lower pricing tends to occur during off-peak hours, such as weekdays. You can also get more “bang for your buck” by purchasing bundled tickets that include activities like ice skating, skiing, and more, or by investing in season passes. To save money on food and snacks, bring your own if it is allowed. If not, book snow tubing sessions that don't overlap with mealtimes.

  • Even with state-of-the-art snow-making machines, snow tubing can be weather-dependent. Always check the website for updates before making the trip.

  • Make sure your children can get in and out of the tubes by themselves.
