Spring Giveaway #6: Win Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus Tickets
When I was a kid the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus was the circus. But now, we haven't been to the Ringling Brothers Circus in years. There's a lot of circus competition now with not just The Big Apple Circus, but Cirque de Soleil and lots of small circus acts. But this year, I have heard great things about the big Ringling Brothers circus. They've gotten rid of the three ring format and made their acts more of a visual feast a la Cirque de Soleil, but with animals. It sounds like it's beautiful, magically and truly a special performance.
We're giving away 4 tickets to the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus Zing Zang Zoom. And, while there's still time to enter our Dear Edwina giveaway, tomorrow will be our last giveaway of this event with tickets to Thomas the Tank Engine at Madison Square Garden. So check back in tomorrow, but see below for how to win the Circus tickets.

Win 4 Tickets to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus:
These tickets are for the Saturday, April 11 show at 11am.
1. Send an email to a friend with "Barnum" in the subject with a link to this page in the message and cc mommy@mommypoppins.com
2. You may increase your odds of winning by sending more than one email. Each email must be to a different recipient.
3. All entries must be received by 5pm on April 6th, 2009.
4. One winner will be selected at random and notified by email.
5. You must be a subscriber to our free email updates to be qualified to win. To subscribe go to our subscribe page or use the form at the top of this page
Some other helpful hints:
1. Do not send an empty email. Empty emails do not count as entries.
2. Do not send emails that only include links as thee tend to get caught in spam folders and may not get counted.
3. Do send a nice note recommending Mommy Poppins to your friend. Perhaps something like, "Do you know about Mommy Poppins? It's the awesomest site ever and has all kinds of great information about kid stuff in NYC. I read it every day and you should too. And now they are doing a super cool giveaway event all week. Check it out. Here's the link: http://mommypoppins.com."
4. No, flattery won't increase your chances of winning, but we still like it.
5. Do use the same email address that you subscribe to Mommy Poppins with to send your emails. If we don't see your email address in our subscriber list and we draw your name, we will draw another name. Think we're joking? Ask the person who that happened to last time.
6. Do remember to verify your subscription if you are a new subscriber. If you don't verify, we will not see your name in our subscriber list and then...see number 5.
Some notes about your email addresses and privacy
This is how we will use your emails:
All emails we receive that have the keyword in the subject will go into a smart folder.
When the contest is over, we will count the emails in the folder and use a random number generator to pick one winner.
When we pick the winner we will use that email to reply to them and let them know they won.
After we have successfully connected the winner with their prize the entire folder will be thrown away.
We will not harvest your email address or the email addresses of your friends for any purpose.
We will not share your email address with the company donating the prize (except for the possible exception of the winner, if it is necessary in order to connect them with their prize).

Founder of Mommy Poppins
A fourth-generation Brooklynite, Anna started Mommy Poppins in 2007 to help families find the best things to do with kids in NYC, with a particular emphasis on sharing activities that are free, affordable, and enriching. The site, used by millions of families, has grown to become the ultimate resource for parents in the major US cities, plus travel guides for 100s of destinations.
Anna is a believer in the magic of summer camps, traveling with kids, and that you can raise kids on a budget and still have a rich life full of amazing memories. Anna's first Mommy Poppins book, The Young Traveler's Journal and Activity Book, published in 2025 and co-written with her daughter, Amelia Eigerman, brings that ethos to life, in addition to this website.
