1. The St. James Hitting House — Springfield, VA

The St. James sports complex's 8,000-square-foot Hitting House is home to six baseball and softball pitching and hitting tunnels with Hack Attack pitching machines and HitTrax available to measure and analyze performance. Helmets, balls, bats, and tees are provided if needed. The cages can be reserved online in 30-minute increments.

2. On-Deck PG — Capitol Heights, MD

On-Deck PG has four batting cages that can be reserved in hour-long increments for a per-hitter fee—two 45-foot cages, one 60-foot cage, and one 50-foot cage with HitTrax. The cages have pitching machines, video pitching simulators, and enclosed nets, and can pitch up to 200 balls without reloading.

3. Diamond Heroes Baseball — Fairfax, VA

This indoor baseball and softball training facility has two batting cages with HitTrax that allow hitters to see batted ball data and flight path in MLB and college ballparks. Batters can rent a HitTrax lane with a Hack Attack pitching machine, a batting practice lane with no pitching machine, and even a pitching mound to use during the practice.

7. Olympic Indoor Sports — Columbia, MD

This massive facility has a whopping 14 batting cages, with two of them dedicated to HitTrax and FungoMan pitching machines. Other available features include radar guns, video analysis, LED lighting, and more. Cages with tunnel lengths of 54 feet and 68 feet can be rented in 30-minute and hour-long increments.

8. Cameron Run Regional Park — Alexandria, VA

Choose between slow-pitch softball and baseball at a variety of speeds at these deluxe batting cages adjacent to Great Waves Water Park. Only a couple of dollars gets you 14 balls to hit. Teams can also rent cages in 30-minute or hour-long increments. Use the provided bats and helmets or bring your own. The batting cages are open from mid March through the end of October.

9. Upton Hill Regional Park — Arlington, VA

Upton Hill Regional Park features six baseball cages (including slow, medium, and fast pitch speeds) and three softball cages (with slow and fast pitch speeds). Helmets with face cages are required and are provided free of charge, as are bats. Closed-toed shoes are also required. No reservation is needed for general use, but groups may rent the batting cages in advance on the website. The cages are open mid March through mid November.

10. Columbia SportsPark — Columbia, MD

Columbia SportsPark is home to 10 batting cages—six baseball and four softball. Balls are pitched at varying speeds from beginner to expert. Helmets and bats are provided free of charge, but visitors are strongly encouraged to bring their own. Helmets must be worn at all times in the batting cages, which close if the temperature drops below 40 degrees or if it rains. Kids must be 7 or older to use the cages.

11. Braddock Park Batting Cages — Clifton, VA

Braddock Park's nine batting cages include both softball cages and baseball cages with speeds in the mid 40s to mid 60s. The cages received new pitching machines, netting, balls, and bats in early 2024. Purchase tokens or rent the cages on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. Kids must be 6 or older to use the cages, and batters must wear helmets with face masks at all times.
