Christmas Illuminations at Mount Vernon

At this family-friendly celebration, the historic area will be lit up by lanterns, the mansion will be aglow in amber light, and the upper garden and greenhouse will be blue and lavender with moving wintry light patterns. There will also be an 18th-century winter market and winter encampment, holiday food and drinks, season's greetings by George Washington on the mansion's piazza, and a dazzling fireworks display over the Potomac River.
Note: This is an outdoor walking experience, so be prepared for low temperatures, varying levels of light, and uneven walkways. The event also includes moving lights, amplified music, and musket firing demonstrations. Face masks are required for all unvaccinated guests.
