Long Island restaurants open on Thanksgiving provide a delicious meal and a memorable holiday experience for the whole family. You get to skip the prep, cooking, and cleanup and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with great food, conversation, and time well spent with the kids. 

If your little ones are particular about their food choices or aren't fans of turkey, many of these Long Island restaurants open on Thanksgiving and offer regular menu items on Thanksgiving Day. Most of the restaurants post their menu offerings on their websites.

Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving in Nassau County

1. Davenport Press –​ Mineola

Enjoy the cozy cottage atmosphere at Davenport Press. Make your reservations early to ensure a table. Each meal includes an appetizer, such as cream of turkey soup, rigatoni al la vodka, or stuffed mushrooms; an entree, like roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, roast Long Island duckling, salmon, or chicken Parmesan; and a dessert, such as pecan pie, apple crisp, or ice cream. Adults are $69.95; $34.95 for children.

2. The Capital Grille – Garden City

This swanky steakhouse is serving Thanksgiving dinner along with its regular menu. Opt for the prix fixe menu, which includes slow-roasted turkey, brioche sage stuffing, French green beans, cranberry-pear chutney, and mashed potatoes. For an additional charge, add a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. Take-home meals are also available to reheat and enjoy in your dining room.

3. Seasons 52 –​ Garden City

Located in the center of Garden City’s shopping mecca, this homegrown favorite is open on Thanksgiving Day, serving turkey dinners for children and adults. The Thanksgiving dinner menu is $44 for adults and $18 for kids. In addition, adults can enjoy seasonal classics like flatbreads and wood-grilled vegetables with their entrees. Children can dine on grilled chicken fingers, hamburgers, pasta, or children’s cheese flatbreads. Reservations are recommended and can be booked online.

4. Milleridge Inn –​ Jericho

Light the first sparks of the holiday season by dining at the North Shore's elegant Milleridge Inn, which features a charming mini-shopping village and tasteful, glowing decor. Make a reservation in advance for Thanksgiving, where you can choose from a sit-down prix fixe or a grand buffet option. Each option includes a good mix of traditional Thanksgiving dishes and house specialties. Prices are $70-73 for adults, depending on the option; $35-37 for kids 12 and under.

5. Uncle Bacala's – Garden City Park

Enjoy a delicious family meal at Uncle Bacala's on Thanksgiving Day right on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park. The adult prix fixe runs $55 and is a four-course menu that includes soup, salad, entree, and dessert. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. Indoor and outdoor seating in heated tents and igloos is available at this popular spot.

6. Wantagh Inn – Wantagh

A special Thanksgiving menu is offered alongside a children's menu. Reservations are available from noon-6pm for the holiday. Some of the entrees include slow-roasted turkey, surf and turf, and baked ham. The children's menu is $14 with options for little eaters like a half portion of turkey dinner, chicken fingers, burgers, and pasta. 

7. Eric's Italian Bistro – Mineola

Bring your family to this modern bistro in Mineola run by the Echeverria family. Eric's offers both a prix fixe menu and a la carte options for the Thanksgiving holiday. Reservations are recommended.

8. The Coral House – Baldwin

Delight in Thanksgiving favorites at The Coral House, where a carving station takes center stage. The kids' station has hot dogs, chicken tenders, and macaroni and cheese. Seatings are held on the half hour from 11am-6 pm. Adults $59.95; $29.95 for children; those under 2 are FREE.

9. Opus Mediterranean Steakhouse – Jericho

Enjoy white and dark meat turkey, plus Thanksgiving favorites like potatoes, cranberry sauce, and vegetables at this chic steakhouse. The special Thanksgiving turkey dinner is $49 per person and reservations can be made online.

Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving in Suffolk County

10. Tweed's Restaurant and Buffalo Bar – Riverhead

The prix fixe menu at Tweed's includes soup or salad, turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, a choice of two sides, and dessert. Its award-winning daily menu is also available. Call ahead for reservations.

11. Harbor Mist – Cold Spring Harbor

This cozy eatery boasts sparkling views of Long Island Sound. A three-course meal for adults is $80 and includes traditional eats or specialties like pumpkin ravioli, miso-glazed salmon, and short ribs. A special kids menu is available for those under 12. Cold Spring Harbor’s waterfront parks are across the street for after-dinner play. Reservations are required for these two-hour seatings. A takeout menu is also available.

12. Jonathan's – Huntington

In the heart of Huntington's bustling village, Jonathan's offers its regular dinner menu on Thanksgiving Day, as well as a menu of Thanksgiving-inspired specials such as roast turkey, pumpkin ravioli, and pumpkin pie. There is also a children's menu that includes appetizers, burgers, and pasta. Thanksgiving dinner is served from 1pm-6pm and reservations are required.

13. East Wind – Wading River

Enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at this East End eatery from 1pm-6pm on the holiday. East Wind offers four different seating times. It has a full Thanksgiving buffet for $74.95 per adult and $35.95 per child. Children under 2 are FREE, but you must bring your own high chair. Dishes include turkey, ham, salmon, soups, bread, and a variety of salads. There is a full kids' menu, too.

14. La Piazza – Melville

The Thanksgiving menu at La Piazza in Melville will have your mouth watering. Herb-roasted turkey, sausage cornbread stuffing, roasted Brussels spouts and bacon, and sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows are some of the main offerings. Enjoy your choice of desserts too, including freshly baked Briermere Farms Pumpkin Pie. Prices are $57 per adult; $30 for children under 12.

15. Southampton Publick House – Southampton Village

This cozy East End pub with booths and tables is a family-friendly option open on Thanksgiving Day. This spot offers a prix fixe menu for the occasion and its location in the heart of Southampton allows for a nice stroll on Main Street after dinner or a walk over to the playground for the kids.
