Sourland Mountain Festival
The Sourland Mountain Festival is hosted by the Sourland Conservancy, a non-profit organization that works to protect the Sourland Mountain region. Check out the “Cool Critters” area. Meet and greet the domestic and native animals of the Sourland.
Enjoy hands-on activities for children. Naturalists are on-hand to answer questions about the beautiful Sourland Mountain region and its wildlife.
Take a stroll down History Lane. Local historians and geologists are on hand to share their knowledge and answer your questions about the local area. Booths are manned by naturalists, conservationists, and those dedicated to preserving and enjoying the beautiful Sourland region. They are offering information, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
The 90-square-mile Sourland region is home to the largest contiguous forest in Central New Jersey. The sparsely populated area includes parts of Somerset, Hunterdon and Mercer counties, and encompasses a complex ecosystem of forest, wetlands and grasslands.
