The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium celebrates the migration of the Pacific gray whale and the beginning of whale-watching season with the building of a life-sized sand sculpture of a Pacific gray whale. 

Activities for kids include arts & crafts, games, puppet shows, music, food and gift vendors, marine awareness organizations, and guest lecturers.

Those with a competitive edge can enter the Duct Tape Whale Sculpture Contest.
