Children's author Cornelia Funke reads her latest story about William Dampier—pirate, adventurer, explorer, and ghost—and his encounters with other ghosts and spirits at the Getty Center.

This new tale follows Pirate Dampier as he heads to the Bauhaus where he encounters an artistic world of shapes, colors, and materials on the occasion of the exhibition Bauhaus Beginnings. 

This afternoon storytelling adventure is followed by a reception, children's craft project, and a tour of Bauhaus Beginnings, on view in the Getty Research Institute galleries. 

Recommended for families and kids ages 8 and up.

Admission is free; reservation required.
