Whether you’ve been eager to introduce your little one to ballet or hip hop, or your ballerina or hip hop star is eager to hit the stage, there are plenty of options for dance classes in Westchester.

We’ve rounded up a number of dance classes in Westchester that offer both ballet and hip hop classes for toddler ages and older. Also cool? While all of these classes have in-person options, some provide private, at-home, or pod classes for families, along with several that have virtual classes, too. It’s well documented that kids love water—whether that’s of the pool, beach, or splash pad variety. And if you’ve ever seen your child’s eyes light up at the sight of a waterfall, you know they don’t even need to be in the water for it to be worthwhile. Located just a few miles north of the Bronx border, Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers is a sprawling, scenic urban oasis that can be enjoyed by the whole family year-round.

Living as close to the park as we do, I would take my children there at least once a week, and they always enjoyed a trip to the “fountains park,” as they called it. They loved running around the Walled Garden, with its beautiful flowers and pools filled with goldfish, climbing up to the Temple of Love for a spectacular view of the Hudson River, or just hiking the many trails that crisscross the grounds.
