The 15th Annual Festival of Trees showcases dozens of decorated trees and Snow Village, a festive model railroad display.
As MHS’s largest annual fundraiser, event and raffle ticket sales support MHS, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and its education and programs. Displayed in the historic Hunnewell Building, Festival of Trees offers 70+ beautiful holiday trees that are donated and decorated by local businesses, garden clubs and individuals. Each with unique themes, ornaments, decorations and gifts, the trees fill the large room and make a wonderful spectacle of holiday joy.
These stunning trees range in size from one foot to nine feet tall. Visitors vote with their raffle tickets for trees they love and hope to win and take home at the end of the event. Raffle tickets are sold on-site during the event, $10 for 26 tickets. The drawing takes place after the event ends on Sunday, December 31st.
Adding to the enchantment, the Festival features Snow Village, an indoor model train exhibit. Model trains wend their way through villages and vignettes, including Christmas in the City (Boston, of course!), Fenway Park, a Dickensian village, the North Pole, and hundreds of decorated houses and lights. With too many Santas to count and ice skaters galore, Snow Village is a visual treat for young and old alike.
Holiday lights fill the Garden. Visitors are encouraged to stroll through a winter wonderland with complimentary hot chocolate in their hands and gather by the firepits to keep warm and cozy while roasting marshmallows for their s’mores.
Ticket prices range from $15-20 for MHS members and $20-25 for nonmembers. Youth (ages 3-17) tickets are $5 and kids 2 and under are free.
