Among the perks of visiting (or living in) Orlando is the Florida sunshine, and there is an abundance of options for enjoying it while dining waterfront.

Whether you are out on the boat and looking for a restaurant at which to dock, or you just want a waterfront meal without the long drive to the coast, you can relax lakeside at these Central Florida restaurants.

Great Waterfront Restaurants for Kids and Families in Orlando

The Boathouse  — Lake Buena Vista

Visiting Disney? Plan a day at Disney Springs and dine waterfront at The Boathouse. This restaurant boasts more than 200 seats on the dock, a large collection of classic boats, and guided amphicar tours. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the menu features a variety of fresh seafood, steaks, and delicious desserts.

Crabby Bill’s Seafood Restaurant — St. Cloud

Featuring panoramic views of East Lake Toho, Crabby Bill's offers indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the lake and marina. Menu options include fish and land favorites as well as a "Little Crab" menu for ages 12 and younger. It is open daily for lunch and dinner, and kids eat free every Wednesday. Enjoy live music on the weekends as well. 

Grills — Orlando

Grills Lakeside offers waterfront dining on Lake Fairview. This casual restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. It offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and a playground where kids can expel some energy while waiting for their meal. Live entertainment is available on the weekends. Menu items include a variety of locally caught fresh seafood, as well as pasta, burgers and more.

Hurricane Dockside Grill — Tavares

Take your boat or car to this tropical-themed waterfront restaurant located on the Dead River between Lake Eustis and Lake Harris. Boaters can tie up at one of the many slips available at the dock. Diners have a variety of food options to choose from, including wings, tacos, burgers, and more. It is open daily, with live music on the weekends.

JB Bookdocks — Howey-in-the-Hills

Arrive by boat, car, or even a seaplane at JB Boondocks, located on Little Lake Harris. Open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, the menu includes seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and more.  While visiting, make time to stop by the historic Howey Mansion just down the road.

Lilly’s on the Lake — Clermont

Lilly’s on the Lake features Caribbean cuisine with indoor and outdoor dining overlooking Lake Minneola. Diners can enjoy live music most nights. Just a short walk away is the Clermont splash pad and beach area.

Paddlefish — Lake Buena Vista

Dine on a replica riverboat permanently docked at Disney Springs. This floating restaurant has three stories of indoor and outdoor dining spaces, including rooftop waterfront dining. The restaurant offers a variety of land and sea dishes. Live entertainment takes place on the rooftop deck every Friday and Saturday night. Reservations are recommended.

Puddle Jumpers — Tavares

Watch seaplanes fly in and out while dining at this casual lakeside restaurant. It is open daily for lunch and dinner, as well as brunch on Sundays. Down by the lake, you’ll find a large wooden playground called Wooton Park as well as a seaplane-themed splash pad that kids love.

Relax Grill at Lake Eola — Orlando

Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, Relax Grill serves American and Mediterranean cuisine for lunch and dinner with a view of beautiful Lake Eola. Affordable kids' menu choices are available for children 10 and younger. You can bring your furry family member along as well; the patio is pet-friendly. After your meal consider renting a swan boat to tour the lake. 

The Waterfront — Orlando

The Waterfront provides scenic outdoor dining for lunch or dinner every day, as well as brunch on the weekends. Outdoor seating provides unbeatable views of Lake Jennie Jewell, and the menu options include American comfort food items such as seafood, burgers, sandwiches and more.
