Mini Maker's Lab
Mini Makers Lab: A STEM Adventure for Little Creators!
Join us at Recess for an exciting and interactive Mini Makers Lab, designed specifically for 3-6 year olds! In this hands-on workshop, your little ones will dive into the world of engineering, force and motion, and buoyancy—all with a fun, literacy-focused twist. They'll explore captivating STEM concepts while having a blast building, creating, and discovering.
Details:
Date: Thursday, May 15th
Time: 4:30-5:30pm
Location: Recess, 1018 Germantown Ave, Suite 100, Philadelphia, PA
Cost: $30
Age: Geared towards 3-6 year olds
We'll kick off the workshop with an inspiring read of Be a Maker by Katey Howes. This delightful book sparks imagination and shows how little ones can unleash their creativity through building, designing, and making things of their own.
Then, we'll move into a series of fun and engaging stations, each designed to spark curiosity and hands-on exploration:
Station Highlights:
Tinker Station: A treasure trove of materials like pipe cleaners, cardboard, googly eyes, and more! Let your creativity run wild as you build, design, and tinker.
Sink or Float: Dive into the science of buoyancy—can you guess what will sink or float? This interactive station is splashy fun!
Force and Motion: Roll ramps and rolling objects to explore speed, direction, and the magic of motion. Which objects will go faster?
Literacy & Drawing Station: Explore interactive STEM-themed books, from computer engineering to quantum physics for the tiniest minds, and draw your own STEM creations!
Parents are welcome to participate in the class or opt for some well-deserved alone time in the hallway. (Note: Parents must remain in the facility but don't need to stay in the room.)
This workshop is all about fun, exploration, and sparking that creative STEM spark in your little ones. We can’t wait to see them dive into the world of making and learning!
