The LA Zoo celebrates our favorite little creatures!

The Zoo hosts special activities for Día de los Niños/Children’s Day throughout the weekend. Highlights include bilingual storytimes with guest readers, cultural performances and art demonstrations.

Self Help Graphics demonstrates the art of screenprinting on posters; guests can bring their own t-shirt* to have it screen-printed as well. Additional craft projects include Monarch butterfly slap bracelets on Saturday and an Axolotl craft on Sunday.

Other fun includes animal enrichment presentations and education stations. Stuffed animals visiting the zoo can get an imaginary veterinary check at the Plushie Clinic. And get your travel papers ready for a trip to Baja California to learn more about the berrendo (aka, peninsular pronghorn) and collaborative efforts to bring them back from the brink of extinction.

*For the best results, light or white cotton or cotton blend T-shirts are recommended. Avoid 100 percent polyester and dark colors.
