- see all dates
Celebrating 46 years, the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker is one of the largest and oldest running races in the U.S.
The Lunar New Year run, walk, cycling, and dog walk events are held at the historic Los Angeles Chinatown Plaza, with a choice to participate in-person or virtually.
Each registered participant receives a commemorative 2024 Firecracker race bib, exclusive collectible finisher’s medal, limited edition commemorative t-shirt, goody bag, and Lucky Red Envelope
There is also a Lunar New Year Celebration which participants and their guests can attend. Highlights include an opening ceremony filled with lion dancers and the traditional lighting of 100,000 firecrackers, as well as vendors and booths.
The 1K Kiddie Run is divided into two age groups for younger and older participants (maximum age is 12 years old). Entry includes access to the Kiddie Fun Zone, with carnival games, face painting, a petting zoo, and arts & crafts.
Schedule:
The 20- and 50-mile Bike Rides are held on Saturday, as is the 1-mile PAW’er Dog Walk.
On Sunday, events include the 5K Run/Walk, the 10K Run/Walk, and the 1K Kiddie Run.
