Hiking, Skating, Thater and More Fun Things To Do in DC this Weekend with Kids
Looking for the best things to do in DC this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this weekend.
I said it last week, but Happy New Year! I know I'm looking forward to a great year ahead, made less stressful by knowing what events I can take my kids to each weekend - wink, wink!
You can get out in nature this weekend – Stellar Star Show at Rock Creek Park will be happening every weekend this month! And it's not outdoor, but the Winter Skate Spectacular is just getting started, and will be at the National Building Museum through February!
Want to stay inside? Can't blame you in the coldest month of the year. Check out some theater productions: Balloonacy at Imagination Stage and Wheaton Family Theater Series: The Light House. Help your kids embrace their inner artist at Open Studio at the Hirshhorn Museum, or with their seek and find skills at the Watson Adventures Scavenger Hunt at National Portrait Gallery.
Finally, Planet Word Museum has a Sunday Storytime – I love that museum because it's off the beaten path, and often less crowded than the Smithsonian Museums. Stay warm this weekend!
Want even more fun things to do this weekend? Our DC events calendar is packed with great family activities every day of the week— and you can filter by age, location, or even free events!
