City Nature Challenge - Devil's Punchbowl BioBlitz
On Saturday, current and aspiring citizen scientists, nature and science fans, and people of all ages and science backgrounds can join NHM’s Community Science Program to explore Devil's Punchbowl Natural Area.
Situated just north of the San Gabriel Mountains in Antelope Valley, Devil's Punchbowl is a unique geological area and contains several different types of landscapes. Scientists and educators from the Museum and the County of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation show participants how to explore this setting while also taking photos of wildlife—for science.
Free, but reservations are required. RSVP here.
The City Nature Challenge is a competition between major cities to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage their residents in worldwide bioblitz. The multi-city, global event calls on to observe and submit pictures of wild plants, animals, and fungi using the free app iNaturalist.
