Fleet Week is an annual patriotic tradition during which active military ships, including the United States Navy, Canadian Navy, and United States Coast Guard ships, dock in a major US city for one week for sailors to get some R&R.
LA Fleet Week is a free, public event on the LA Waterfront taking place over Labor Day weekend, featuring guided ship tours, military demonstrations, live entertainment, and flyovers. (The online schedule of events is frequently updated.)
New: no advanced reservations this year. Tours of active duty ships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, Friday, August 30 through Monday, September 2 from 8:30am to 3pm.
Minimum age for ship tours is 5 years old.Children must be able to walk on their own throughout the tour – for safety reasons, they cannot be carried on or off the ship. Baby strollers, baby carriers, backpacks, or baby wraps/swaddlers are not allowed on the vessels.
GUESTS ARE SUBJECT TO AN AIRPORT-STYLE SEARCH AT THE EVENT AND NEED TO SHOW GOVERNMENT-ISSUED IDENTIFICATION. STUDENTS UNDER 18 YEARS OLD NEED AN ADULT WITH IDENTIFICATION WITH THEM.
