Give a kid a fish, and you've fed him for a day. Teach a kid to fish and that sounds like a fun Saturday morning at Clark Regional Park!
This free fishing derby is designed to teach kids how to fish, while giving them an opportunity to catch a few from a stocked lake.
Kids ages 5 to 15 can enjoy a day of fresh air and fishing, whether they're casting a pole for the first time or are seasoned anglers. The lake is stocked with 2,000 lbs. of catfish and trophies are awarded for the biggest fish caught. Food is available for purchase.
Registration is required and begins at 7 a.m. day of the event at the OC Parks check-in table. Participants should bring their own fishing poles. A limited amount of bait is provided. There is a five-fish limit.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult, and adults will not be permitted to fish until the event is over.
