City Nature Challenge - Point Fermin BioBlitz
- see all dates
This weekend, current and aspiring citizen scientists, nature and science fans, and people of all ages and science backgrounds can join NHM’s Community Science Program and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium to explore coastal marine life at Point Fermin, San Pedro.
The rocky intertidal areas of Los Angeles are great places to find all sorts of wildlife. Participants meet at the front steps of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, then walk out to the tide pools.
Saturday, April 27: 10:15am to 1pm
Sunday, April 28: 10:45am to 1:30pm
Free, but reservations are required. RSVP here.
The City Nature Challenge is a competition between major cities to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage their residents in worldwide bioblitz. The multi-city, global event calls on to observe and submit pictures of wild plants, animals, and fungi using the free app iNaturalist.
