For nearly 100 years, Paramount Ranch has set the scene for hundreds of movies, TV shows, and photo shoots. That includes a number of monster, paranormal, and other supernatural films and shows, from “The Forbidden Trail” (1932) to “Van Helsing” (2004), and episodes of the X-Files and HBO’s Westworld. In keeping with that theme, the National Park Service hosts a one-of-a-kind event called Scare-amount Ranch.

The family-friendly Halloween event combines elements of film history and nature. Rangers highlight nocturnal animals that may be spotted on the ranch at night. Children can also participate in several nature-themed crafts. 

Flashlights and a jacket are recommended.

Reservations are not required.
