Saturday Mornings At The Opera
LA Opera thinks you're never too young to enjoy the classics, offering Saturday morning, hour-long, interactive performances.
From a bed of pillows, children enjoy an interactive, family-friendly opera under the glittering chandeliers of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
Before each performance, kids can enjoy art and music-making activities in free workshops. For the March event, participants can craft a souvenir, take a fun dance class and learn how the stars breathe and sing with a real opera singer.
The October performance, Verdi Opera Tales, is a zany musical adventure written especially for kids. The fun program explores the world of Verdi's most famous operas, featuring excerpts from La Traviata, Rigoletto, Falstaff, and more.
The program is designed for children 3 to 9 years old (but we welcome all ages). All children, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend the performance.
