If you want to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour, you'd better rocket over to the California Science Center, before it takes off in 3, 2, 1...

The Space Shuttle Endeavour is preparing for its move to its new home, Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, (an expansion of the California Science Center).

There Endeavour will stand upright, in "ready to launch" position in a 20-story vertical configuration, complete with Solid Rocket Boosters and an External Tank, in what will be the world’s only display of an authentic space shuttle system.

Before this can happen, we have to say goodbye for a time, as Endeavour goes off exhibit in preparation for its move and installation.

It will be a few years before the Oschin Center opens, but it will be worth the wait. The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will nearly double the California Science Center’s educational exhibit areas with an impressive artifact collection of aircraft and spacecraft, plus hands-on exhibits that help guests understand key principles of atmospheric flight and the exploration of the universe. And of course, it will be Endeavour's new permanent home.

Endeavour remains on display at the California Science Center until December 31, 2023,  after which it begins its short but profound journey to the Oschin Air and Space Center
