Main Street is really going to the dogs!

The Day Of The Dog Festival is a celebration of the extraordinary bond between humans and canines. Dog lovers and pet enthusiasts can connect with like-minded individuals, meet local and national pet-related companies, and watch as pets frolic and play in various activations.

The event is held in collaboration with the Main Street Block Party.

The Kids Korner in front of the Pump Station offers fun for kids including sports demos, free face painting, arts & crafts, kid-friendly vendors, and a lively musical story time with Books & Cookies.

Bands perform throughout the day at the Subaru Santa Monica Stage on Hollister. There is a 21+ Beer Garden (presale tickets $15).

Dressed up doggies can compete in the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest (check in starts at 4pm, judging starts at 5pm). Other canine highlights include dog races for multible breeds -  corgis, wieners, doodles, and all-breed - and  a 100-foot pool party for dogs.

This event is free to attend. Day of the Dog Festival takes place on Main Street in Santa Monica (between Ocean Park & Strand) from 12 noon to 5pm. Main Street Block Party activities are mostly south of Ocean Park, and continue til 7pm
