2022 Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival
The Bard is back, baby! Free Shakespeare returns to Griffith Park for a full summer of theater under the stars.
The first play this summer is The Knight of the Burning Pestle by Francis Beaumont, a "wild and wonderful 17th century comedy" that "receives a 21st century makeover in an anarchic, Los Angeles-specific adaptation."
Next up is the Scottish play... (don't tell, but it's Macbeth).
Knight of the Burning Pestle runs from July 2 - July 31
Macbeth plays from August 6 - September 4
Note that this year's production is held in the same location as last summer, just a little ways from the usual Old Zoo location, just a little farther up the hill, at the "bucolic Dell at the top of the Old Zoo". Parking is in the same location as previous years.
Information on seating and reservations will be announced later this spring.
Select dates have pre-show activities, that information is to come as well.
