It already feels like fall, and if the rain can just hold back we have a beautiful weekend is ahead of us. If you are looking for meaningful ways to commemorate September 11th with your family, we found some places where you can gather. We've also rounded up some other activities for you this weekend, including festivals, a tomato contest, a bug hunt, and a road race that benefits kids. The East Northport Chamber of Commerce invites families to come out this weekend to the annual East Northport Festival. Featured at the festival are arts and crafts exhibits, bicycle stunt shows, live entertainment, rides and games, magic shows, yummy food and a lot more! It’s all about tomatoes this weekend at Hicks Nurseries at the 14th Annual Hicks Nurseries Tomato Contest. See all shapes, sizes and colors of tomatoes grown. Each child who has grown their own tomato will receive a special certificate. Check their website for rules and schedule.

Get your running shoes on for a good cause! The 5th Annual Mary Napolitano Festival of Races takes place this Sunday and benefits children with illnesses. Children are encouraged to participate in children’s 5K, 10K and half-mile runs. Each participant will receive a medal.
