CicLAvia revisits its Heart of LA route, this year celebrating UCLA's centennial. The route explores Westlake, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Boyle Heights, and DTLA (where UCLA originally began as a teachers college).
The hubs are at Mariachi Plaza, Chinatown, Civic Center and MacArthur Park. Activities along the way include an Augmented Reality Sandbox, a bike safety checkpoint, performances and workout classes at the Mariachi Plaza Bandshell, and much more.
CicLAvia is derived from a Spanish term for "bike path," and its goal is to turn LA into one big bike path, if just for a few hours. People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and bike, walk, skateboard, or push a stroller to discover our beautiful city at non-motorized speeds. CicLAvia offers a wide variety of activities for people of all interests and ages, including music, performances, food trucks galore, and more.
