Looking for the best things to do in DC this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list for this weekend.

It's a good weekend for the the scientist in your family. The Museum of Natural History celebrates Amphibian Week on Saturday, while the Udvar-Hazy Center hosts a family day about spacesuits through the decades of space travel, also on Saturday.

Free outdoor movies are kicking off this weekend across the region, including Sunday Family Movies on the Potomac, which take place every Sunday through the end of September.

Families can celebrate spring at the weekend's many local festivals, including the Peekskill Cherry Blossom Festival at Riverfront Green Park and the Spring Crafts Show at Lyndhurst. Or get creative at the Katonah Museum of Art's Family Day. 

Families are also invited to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the special free program Fiesta Musical for Cinco de Mayo at the New Rochelle Public Library.

Flip Circus returns to Long Island this weekend with world-class clowns, acrobats, jugglers, and daredevils. 

On Saturday, you can also flutter over to the Sands Point Preserve as the Long Island Fairy Festival returns to the majestic grounds. On Sunday, learn about the true meaning of Cinco de Mayo and make a balero toy to take home from the Long Island Children's Museum.

It's the biggest party in town, which could only mean one thing: The Great Big Family Play Day returns to the Autry Museum. Expect two days of family fun with everything from kiddie performers to crafts, swag, a dino exhibit, and more swag! 

Of course, the biggest party could also mean the LA County Fair, returning for another year with carnival rides, pig racing, barnyard friends, headliner concerts, and fried everything.
