Brenda Parker, a Mount Vernon Character Interpreter & African American Interpretation & Special Projects Coordinator, portrays the experiences of four individuals at Mount Vernon on Manumission Day—January 1, 1801—when Martha Washington freed her late husband’s slaves.

The performance will take place in the brick area outside of the Interpretive Center.

Masks and social distancing are required.
