Car Free Day 2023

Help reduce traffic congestion, contribute to a greener environment, and reduce gasoline demand by signing up to participate in Car Free Day 2023! Residents and commuters across the region pledge to get around without driving alone in cars, and instead, use transit, rideshare, bike, walk, scooter, or telework. Participants who take the pledge are automatically entered for a chance to win raffle prizes.
To participate, fill out the free online pledge, and go car free or car-lite (carpool, vanpool) on Friday, September 22, 2023. Take the pledge, even if you’re already car free!
Car Free Day is organized in various cities throughout the world in different ways, with the common goal of reducing congestion and improving air quality. Car Free Day is open to all residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan region.
