Get ready for summer vacation! June in DC brings Juneteenth festivals, Father's Day, ripe strawberries, and even some early fireworks.

Summer is here and our calendar is bursting with festivals, free movies and concerts, and plenty of outdoor fun! Start off your summer with classic carnival rides and fun at the Herndon Carnival. If you're looking for kid-friendly summer shows, the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods at Wolf Trap is back starting June 21 with shows from Tuesday through Sunday all summer long.

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is back in person on the National Mall this year with activities to learn about the culture of the United Arab Emirates and conservation. The piece de resistance? Early pre-July 4 fireworks at Mount Vernon.
