Weathering the Winter
Sat Feb 1, 2025
10:00am to 3:30pm ET
Age: All ages
Price: Free
Location:
Peter Wentz Farmstead
Winters were harsh in the 18th century, but even in cold and snowy weather there was still plenty of work to do around the farm. Fires had to be built, food preserved and cooked, and animals needed tending. Visit the Farmstead on February 1st to watch living historians demonstrate the types of farm chores a family like the Wentzes would have had to do this time of year.
Watch as meat and other provisions are cured and preserved in the Smokehouse, check out a cooking demonstration in the Summer Kitchen, and more!
All ages; Free.
