Krispy Kreme National Doughnut Day
June 2 is National Doughnut Day, and that means there's a free donut with your name on it waiting at your local Krispy Kreme store. You can choose any variety, no purchase necessary (but only one per customer!).
Use the store locator to find the branch nearest to you.
In case you've ever wondered why there's a holiday to honor donuts, this is more than just a Krispy Kreme marketing scheme. Back in 1917, volunteers were sent by the Salvation Army to the front lines of WW1 with the job of providing aid and comfort to servicemen in battle. Two of the volunteers, Margaret Sheldon and Helen Purviance, figured out how to fry up hundreds of doughnuts a day in the soldiers' helmets, offering the men one of the only hot foods available at the front. National Donut Day was created in 1938 to honor of the ingenuity of these two women.
So go have a donut; it's your patriotic duty!
** Disclaimer: Free doughnut offer: Limit 1 free doughnut per guest. Offer valid 6/2/23 only at participating Krispy Kreme shop locations while supplies last. In shop and drive-thru only. Not available online. Not valid with any other offer. Not valid in Times Square. Not offered in Puerto Rico. .
