Self Help Graphics Día de los Muertos Celebration at Civic Center Park
Self Help Graphics' 50th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration takes place at Civic Center Park in East LA.
The public is encouraged to dress up in their favorite Día de los Muertos fashion and take part in the festive Día de los Muertos Celebration Procession. Participants meet up at 2pm in Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights, then take the Metro* to Civic Center Park for the celebration.
Activities at Civic Center Park include altars, live performances, face painting, arts & crafts, a Muerto Marketplace and food vendors.
This year, the community altar is created by Altarista, Denise Esparza, and is located inside the East LA County Library, located on the same campus as the park.
*TAP card required to ride the metro. The first 150 procession participants from Mariachi Plaza will receive a free TAP card for the procession. All other guests must purchase their individual train tickets to travel on the Metro to the Civic Center destination.
