Bug Day 2025 at the Randall Museum

Check out the incredible extravaganza of insects and arachnids at the Randall Museum’s popular Bug Day event celebrating everything insect with hands-on science and art activities, games, live music, movies and more.
Join in the creepy-crawly fun and learn how important these little creatures are to the earth and to our survival here. Kids and their families can make their own fabulous bug-related crafts to take home, interact with an array of insects and arachnids, take a scientific look at insects through microscopes, participate in pollinator relays and bee dances, and perhaps even EAT a bug or two. This year, the Randall brings back the Bug Costume contest. Come in your insect-inspired costume and maybe win a prize!
The San Francisco Beekeepers Association will have a hive of live honey bees on display. Kids can watch beekeepers at work and learn about these amazing pollinators, plus there will be honey collected from hives all over the city and other bee-made products for sale.
Other participating community members include California Plant Society, San Francisco Zoo, Oakland Zoo, Tree Frog Treks, San Francisco Microscopical Society, and Don Bugito Edible Bugs.
