In this course, students get an inside look into the exciting world of Anime & Manga cartoon art and design. Students learn how to capture the fundamentals of facial features & anatomy within the Manga, Anime Art tradition culminating in designing their own characters.

They will design unique characters- Human, Animal or Fantasy subjects, in the anime style and how to draw these characters in action. Lessons will be given on figure drawing & proportion in one or more of the various styles: Shonen, Seinen, Shojo, Josei or Kodomomuke. Students will create a Character Chart - with color palette for Skin/Hair/Eyes/Clothing, shading techniques in color for all Manga pens. Demos will be given in: shading with manga markers & inking. The course will end with a critique on each student’s work. Returning students will be accommodated & techniques polished.

Class is offered as single day drop-ins or sign up for multi-week full course by selecting the start date from the registration calendar below.

Masks are mandatory to fully cover nose and mouth and must not be removed during your session.
