CANCELED BAMkids: Journey (Taama)
Through music and movement, a Burkinabe singer and a Breton violinist come together in a story designed to delight and engage young minds. Journey, or “Taama” in the Dioula language, centers on a woman displaced from her country and the home that she rebuilds with the help of a new friend. Through traditional nursery rhymes and classical melodies, this show introduces young audiences to musical styles from across the globe.
Relaxed Performances will be on May 3 & May 9 at 3:30pm.
These relaxed performances will be modified to better support the needs and enjoyment of a neural diverse audience. Modifications include the elimination of blackouts and sudden theatrical cues, maintaining moderate house lighting through the performance, and lowering the overall volume. Audience vocalization and movement is allowed at all times. Patrons may exit and enter freely, with the option to view a live-feed of the show in a separate, relaxed environment.
Shows at 10:30am and 3:30pm.
