Wildman Steve Brill celebrates 36 years of foraging with a romp through Prospect Park, keeping an eye out for wild persimmons (there are three trees in the southwest corner of the lake), ginkgo nuts, sassafras, chickweed and more.

Plus, burdock, an expensive detoxifying herb sold in health food stores, abounds in cultivated areas throughout the park, along with mushrooms, wood sorrel and Kentucky coffee tree seeds!

Call to reserve a spot at least 24 hours in advance. The 4-hour foraging tour of Prospect Park meets at the stone benches by the stone wall at Prospect Park's Grand Army Plaza entrance, across from the library (not under the traffic circle).
