To celebrate the opening of Betye Saar: Keepin' It Clean, and in conjunction with the exhibition, Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow, explore the life, career, and contributions of Harriet Tubman and other emancipated people who escaped slavery—all brought to life by trained Living Historians.

Learn more about Tubman’s accomplishments during the American Civil War and Reconstruction, ask questions about how she and her associates used the Underground Railroad to free themselves, and discover the tales, tools, and techniques of how Tubman and many self-liberated people of African descent evaded capture and found their way north.
