La MaMa Kids is a series of creative workshops and performances for the young and the young-at-heart. These events encourage imaginative play through hands-on learning. Children and adults learn the basics of storytelling, dance, mask, puppet making, and more! Fun for the whole family! 

• Events are monthly.
• Workshops are 45 minutes long and limited to 25 children. 

La MaMa Kids Workshop: Making Stories Together
Saturday, October 13, 11am
The focus of this storytelling workshop is to create a performance using language, space and time by guiding the participants in co-authoring stories with other participating workshop members, honoring collaboration as a driving force.

Performance: Don Quixote Takes New York
Saturday & Sunday, November 10-11, 12pm
Don Quixote and his friend Sancho Panza travel the five boroughs of New York on a quest to save the world from evil forces. Loco7 Theatre productions utilize original music, dancers, body puppets and larger-than-life marionettes.

Performance: Chicken Soup, Chicken Soup
Saturday, November 17 at 2pm
& Sunday, November 18 at  12pm
Part of theLa MaMa Puppet Series, Chicken Soup, Chicken Soup is a puppet show whose story revolves around two grandmothers, one Jewish and one Chinese, who come up with elaborate ways to show their granddaughter that their cultural heritage (their chicken soup) is the best. The themes in this story include mixed-race families, cultural heritage, and the joy of cooking.

La MaMa Kids: The Winter Wonderland Performance and Celebration
Saturday, December 22 at 12pm
La MaMa Family weaves its magic and excitement in a fun-filled, immersive performance by La MaMa resident artists. Embracing puppetry, storytelling, dance, music and theatre, this is a unique holiday event for the whole family. All ages encouraged!
