Little Amal in Queens

Age: All ages

Little Amal, a giant puppet representing Syrian children and refugees everywhere, joins with the Cetiliztli Nauchcampa and other indigenous dancers to perform in a community garden created by the Mujeres en Movimiento in her honor.

Then she visits Corona Park, where she mistakes a birthday piñata for a donkey about to get a beating… She rushes to its rescue and makes an unexpected friend. Together they explore the pleasures of galloping through a park.

Late in the evening, Amal reaches Jackson Heights and joins a procession with a group of drummers.
