Vocalist Lala Tamar performs the traditional music of the Jewish women of Spanish Morocco. Sung in the singular Haquetiya dialect, this little-heard folk art was acknowledged beyond its indigenous borders as little more than an ethnographic novelty until Tamar began researching its history and adapting the work to a more modern sound.
