Celebrate this important holiday marking the end of slavery by delving deep into Black history at Green-Wood Cemetery. Participate in free kids’ art activities in the Historic Chapel and take a self-guided tour of the grave sites of fascinating Black historical figures.

Advance registration is recommended.

This program’s “home base” is Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel, located near the Main Entrance at 500 25th Street. Enter the cemetery there, walk up through the Gothic Arch, and security and other cemetery staff will help direct you to the chapel.
