The Museum of Makers + Innovators (MOMI) and the Montclair Flea partner to bring families an engaging way to play and learn together. The best toy is often the one you make. Cardboard is the perfect medium to engage in creative play and foster STEAM learning.

Inspired by adventure playgrounds, Unboxed: Adventures in Cardboard, invites children and their families to test their imaginations as they build, construct, and invent forts using everyday materials such as cardboard, tape, fabric, string, and other recyclables.

Why fort building? Fort-building ignites imaginative and creative play and is one of the most beneficial learning tools for any child, leading to a lifetime of innovation and creativity. Children create narratives as they play, keeping them engaged longer and helping them retain information. This wonderful event invites children and their parents or caregivers to work collaboratively to create together.
