On May 15, the Skirball opens its doors to the general public.

The reopening also marks the Southern California debut of Ai Weiwei: Trace. The exhibit looks at courage in the face of authoritarianism and illuminates the power of resistance. 83 portraits of activists, prisoners of conscience, and advocates of free speech are on display, each one hand-assembled from thousands of LEGO bricks.

The artworks were all created while the artist was under house arrest.

Advance timed-entry reservations are required, including on free Thursdays.

NOTE: The Skirball Museum and Noah’s Ark galleries—as well as Audrey’s Museum Store, Zeidler’s Café (including cart service), Archaeology Dig, and Family Art Studio—remain closed at this time.
