- see all dates
Also on August 13, 2023, September 10, 2023, October 21, 2023, October 22, 2023.
A stretch of Santa Monica's Main Street closes off to traffic for a monthly family-friendly Open Streets event.
October's event is themed Howl-o-ween, with Halloween activities for humans and pets. Activities include trick-or-treating, costume contests and pumpkin decorating, plus a screening of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
The blocks of Main Street between Strand Street and Pier Avenue is open for al fresco dining, live music, local vendors, and activities for kids. There are free, pop-up fitness classes, police and fire community booths, and two satellite bars featuring local DJ’s at every event.
The Kids Corner has a full schedule of activities, including face painting, soccer, sensory play, musical storytime with Books & Cookies, and more. See website for schedule.
In addition, there is special programming each month, including Drag Bingo inside the beer garden in August, a collaboration with the Day of the Dog on September 9th and the return of Rocktober, celebrating Halloween with a pumpkin patch and outdoor movie screening.
