Onward (Accommodative Screening)
The Academy Museum hosts an accommodative screening of Onward.
Director Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) was inspired by the loss of his own father to write (with Jason Headley and Keith Bunin) this original animated story about two elf brothers (voiced by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt) whose attempt to use magic to bring their father back to life leads to unexpected results and a dangerous journey.
Set in a world populated by mythic creatures, this imaginative and heartwarming fantasy was nominated for an Animated Feature Film Oscar.
Onward has a runtime of 102 minutes and is rated PG. The film is recommended for ages 7 and up.
On the last Saturday of every month, the museum's Family Matinee is an accommodative screening, with open captioning, the theater dimly lit, and volume maintained lower specifically for neurodivergent viewers.
