The Central Library celebrates the Lunar New Year with an afternoon of family-friendly cultural programs.

The day includes storytime, hands-on crafts and workshops, and performances.

Schedule: 

2pm: Bilingual Vietnamese Storytime  (ages 3 - 11) (Children’s Literature)

2pm: Nossi Bojagi: Wrapping Workshop: a workshop to learn to learn Bojagi, the traditional Korean art of wrapping cloth (Meeting Room B)

2pm - 4pm: Chinese Paper Lanterns (Octavia Lab)

2:30pm:  Chinese Opera performance of Princess Baihua Bestows Her Sword, a traditional comedic play (Mark Taper Auditorium)

3pm: Field Elementary School Lion Dance (Mark Taper Auditorium)

3pm: Ambiv Collective: Storytelling - crafts and traditional Asian stories (Meeting Room A)

3pm: Chinese Dessert Dumpling Demo + Tasting  This is a gluten-free and vegan friendly event. (Teen’Scape)

3:30pm: Asian American Talent Foundation Dance Performance (Mark Taper Auditorium)
