Celebrate the Year of the Dragon and learn about Lunar New Year at this free family event hosted by the Heckscher Museum of Art. Visitors can create and enjoy a variety of hands-on holiday activities. 

  • Meet artist Joan Kim Suzuki, see her artwork inspired by her Korean heritage, and create a Korean drum and fan.
  • Join Patricia Shih from the Town of Huntington Asian-American Task Force and learn about Chinese culture with the Mobile Museum of authentic (and some replicate) artifacts of the history, art, culture, and more.
  • Create origami with Hansen Lee from the Town of Huntington Asian-American Task Force.
  • Dance Performances: Wendi Weng will perform traditional Chinese dances. Children are invited to join in for select performances.
  • Volunteers are invited to learn the Lion Dance and accompanying music with Patricia Shih and perform for visitors.
