The Town of Hempstead hosts its annual Salute to Veterans event, which features a concert by Starship featuring Mickey Thomas and fireworks display. The evening kicks off with a ceremony honoring veterans.

Also planned: a cornhole tournament, a volleyball tournament, hot dog eating contest, beer garden, craft vendors, food trucks, a family fun zone, and sand castle contest.
