Live music, dance, and kid-friendly poetry presenting Black History from ancient Africa to today.

This show presents the unique role African Americans play in American history including leaders, scientists, artists, athletes, inventors and visionaries such as Queen Nefertiti, Henry “Box” Brown, Geroge Washington Carver, Jesse Owens, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Simone Biles, Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Barack Obama and Vice-President Kamala Harris and others.

A rousing celebration for all ages and backgrounds, featuring original poetry by two Houston Poet Laureates. Performers include a back-up singer for Whitney Houston and a Broadway World nominee. And kids can take photos with the cast after the show!

The mission of Express Children’s Theatre is to create and perform professional, culturally diverse performing arts and education to Greater Houston’s children and families.
Since 1991, they have been touring original performances to schools, daycare centers, hospitals, museums, houses of worship, private homes and theatres throughout South Texas and beyond.
